Position: Remote Cleanup Specialist

We're growing and need your help to make our team even better for our clients!  This role begins as a part-time subcontracting position, but with the right fit, will quickly evolve into a long-term employee position.

We're looking for a timely, efficient, and highly motivated Cleanup Specialist to join our team.  The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in bookkeeping practices, adaptable to different client needs, and able to communicate effectively. They should be reliable, dependable, and willing to go above and beyond to ensure accuracy and compliance in clients' financial records.

RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE:

General Responsibilities:
  • Check Slack, Asana, Keeper & email regularly
  • Complete bookkeeping assignments on time, accurately, and efficiently 
  • Timely communication and respectful interactions with BFL team members​
  • Accountability to internal processes and procedures
Bookkeeper Responsibilities:
  • Streamline and create efficient cleanup processes and procedures
  • Perform thorough diagnostic reviews of clients' financial records
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts
  • Correct and update transactions to reflect accurate financial information
  • Ensure a smooth transition from the cleanup to the bookkeeping team
  • Enhance the efficiency and accuracy of bookkeeping procedures before handing off to the bookkeeping team
  • Maintain client data and follow necessary security measures
  • Gather necessary information from clients throughout the cleanup process via the client portal
  • Provide regular status updates to the team and management on the progress of the cleanup
  • Communicate updates with clients as you work through the cleanup process via the client portal
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, accounting standards, and regulations

REQUIREMENTS:

Required:​​​
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or related field
  • Proficient in Quickbooks Online and Microsoft Excel/GoogleSheets
  • Professional experience with remote/virtual work environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Respectful interactions with BFL team members
  • Access to a computer with a reliable internet connection
  • Must carry insurance
  • Based in the USA
Preferred:​
  • Experience with Keeper & Asana
  • Knowledge of third-party payment processors (Jobber, LMN, etc)
  • Experience with Hubdoc/Dext or similar document management software
  • Familiarity with job costing
  • Familiarity with payroll processing
  • Experience working with multiple clients simultaneously
  • 1-3 Professional References

Position Details:
  • Remote, Part-Time contractor position 
  • Flexible schedule, project-based
  • Pay is a percentage of the overall project rate

  • We are a 100% virtual team, no in-person meetings will be required.
